Celebrating: 200,000 members in the Energy and Climate Campus! Share: Are you equipped to help your government build resilience? Good news: Bees, foxes and badgers debate climate issues in Milan FI MACKLIN Head of Climate Government Energy and Climate Campus Dear friends,   We know that the summer we're experiencing in the UK and Europe is not normal; nor should it be considered the ‘new normal’. The wildfires, heat domes and droughts are impacting livelihoods, productivity and crops. Yes, these extreme weather events will continue to get worse in impact and frequency. But no, we cannot normalise them.   Instead, we must do everything we can to support and strengthen government resilience in the face of these events, share learnings, and build the capacity that can accelerate the advent of a new economy.   You are all central to this: your work will help establish this infrastructure to bring about a proper ‘new normal’: a normal in which the world is stable, affordable breathable again.   Thank you for the work that you do — we look forward to continuing to work with you and support you in this endeavour.   Yours, Fiona Celebrating 200,000 members! The Government Energy and Climate Campus has just passed 200,000 members, all building skills, sharing knowledge and shaping better climate governance together. From the team at Apolitical, thank you for being a part of this effort. And watch this space for the next exciting phase! This is your last chance to have your voice heard: is your government prepared? Let us know. Take the survey And finally... Milan's city council chamber recently hosted an unusual session: representatives of around 50 animal species gathered to give non-human life a political voice in the city's future.   Students played the roles of swifts, foxes, bees, and earthworms, debating real planning issues like the demolition of the San Siro stadium from a non-human perspective. The project argues cities are already multispecies ecosystems, and that planning decisions carry ecological consequences that are too often left out of the conversation.
