| View in browser The Climate Frontline is a monthly newsletter brought to you by the Government Energy and Climate Campus.  In this month's edition... Tell us: Is your government ready for climate shocks? Poll: Do you feel equipped to help your government build resilience? Good news: Beavers prevent flooding on the London Underground FI MACKLIN Head of Climate Government Energy and Climate Campus Dear community, Apolitical asked public servants which policy challenge is the most complex to address. Nearly a third of respondents chose climate change, ahead of economic inequality and healthcare. Those closest to the work were clear: this is the hardest problem on their desks. So I'd like to ask a favour of this audience: please take Apolitical's new survey, Adapting to an Era of Shocks, and share it with your peers. Knowing climate is the hardest challenge is one thing. Knowing what to do about it is another. This survey asks public servants how prepared they feel, how resilient their institutions really are and what would help most, with a dedicated section on climate. The results will influence the tools, training and support Apolitical builds next. It takes about 7 minutes, and every response sharpens the picture, especially if you pass it to your peers and colleagues working on resilience in government, multilaterals or non-profits.   – Fiona Take the survey Poll: I feel well-equipped to deliver the necessary actions and policies to help my government withstand, recover from, and adapt to climate shocks Cast your vote How governments are building climate resilience From local adaptation to global forecasting How this Colombian town is preparing for climate shocks Communities are leading Medellín's climate adaptation with nature-based solutions. If you missed it above, there's still time to contribute to our short survey on government preparedness for climate shocks. Take the survey And finally... A colony of reintroduced beavers in west London, UK, has helped prevent flooding at Greenford railway station, according to the Ealing Beaver Project.   Since returning to Paradise Fields, the beavers have built a network of dams and wetlands that slow the flow of water during heavy rainfall, reducing pressure on drainage systems downstream. The project also reports the animals are thriving, with at least two new kits born this year.
